The sleep sac or “Gigoteuse”, a European tradition for generations, is relatively new in North America, gaining greater exposure here over the last 5 years.

When my wife (who is Belgian) put our newborn daughter in her first sleep Sac for the night, I said “What the heck is that?!”. She looked at me with that quizzical and soon to be familiar “How could I have ever married you” look, saying she herself grew up in a Sleep Sac and so have most Europeans for the last hundred odd years.

Sleeps Sac in general reduce the risk of SIDS as it keeps babies on their backs and prevents them from overheating. It is far safer and superior than a blanket during the first year.

These revolutionary Sleep Sacs also keep the child secure, yet they have the freedom to kick their legs and not get frustrated. Since they cannot kick off the sleep sac they stay content and warm, letting Mom and Dad also sleep through the night.
