Kaloo Line-Up

We just had to share this photo of a very special fan taking stock of his Kaloo.  This devotion is not uncommon and speaks to the quality and cachet of Kaloo.

We work hard to earn your loyaty and will continue to innovate and hold true to the core elements that has made Kaloo a family favorite.

Spring & Hope is in the Air

As the last of the snow has now melted away and the Tulips are in bloom, the doom and gloom in retail seems to be lifting as well.

Stores that reported slow overall sales, commented that Kaloo was one of their bright spots. We take great pride in Kaloo’s quality & cachet and in challenging economic times, when more than ever, people want their dollars to count, Kaloo’s value delivers.

Stores that have done well in these times, attribute this fact to successfully having differentiated themselves from the big box stores, by offering exceptional customer service and merchandising, ensuring their displays are kept organized and fresh.

The Kaloo brand is still new to many people. The excitement of this discovery, including all the new collections launched this year has made our retailers more confident to explore the full potential of their in-store Kaloo display.  Stay tuned for news on our new Diaper Bags coming this summer!

Kaloo Organics – Naturel Collection

Kaloo is committed to preserving the environment, while maintaining the high quality standards associated with the Kaloo brand.

We recently launch our first Organic Collection: Naturel.

All items in our Organic Naturel Collection are made from certified Organic Indian cotton.

Everything that comes in contact with your child skin is certified organic.

We use our traditional hypo-allergenic poly hollow fiber stuffing, to retain the light, soft feel and easy care, Kaloo is famous for, while avoiding the heavy and moisture retaining properties of cotton or wool stuffing.

All our Doudou and Infant Clothing are 100% certified Organic.

An additional key Eco-friendly feature of the Organic Naturel collection is that the signature round Hat boxes are made from 100% recycled paper, further enhancing Kaloo’s commitment to the environment.

The Importance of a Doudou

Very popular in French & other European cultures, the doudou is a transitional object, it, in short,  is a substitute for the mother when she is not around.

According to studies, we start seeing the doudou appear between 4 to 6 months. It is at the age of 8 or 9 months that the child starts carrying and asking for his doudou, an age at which he has difficulty being separated from his parents.

The doudou is ever present at night and when he finds himself alone at nap time.

THE ROLE OF A DOUDOU:
When the child realizes that he and mommy are 2 separate people, fear of losing her arises and the doudou helps to comfort and reassure. Its familiar scent helps the child cope with separation anxiety from the parents.

CARING FOR THE DOUDOU:
After several month of constant use, some parents may be embarrassed by the state the doudou is in. Not to worry, a real doudou often looks worn because your child carries it everywhere he goes.

To avoid altering the familiar smell, you must never throw away or change a doudou without your child’s permission. The mother should hug the freshly washed doudou for a few minutes to re-establish her scent.

Having back-up doudous in case one is lost is also prudent. In some rare cases children may refuse a substitute, which is painful for parents and child. But by alternating them on a regular basis, the risk of rejection is greatly reduced.

THE SEPARATION:
Parting ways with a doudou is not an easy task. Your child will progressively detach himself from his doudou all by himself. He will become more interested in socializing with other children. Between the ages of 3 and 5 years, the doudou may only be a sleepytime friend.
